About Home Visits
reTHINK CANNABIS is proud to offer in-Home Visits for those residents in
Broward County and Boca Raton who are bed-bound, wheelchair-bound,
or otherwise unable to visit the office.
If you are physically unable to come to the office, home visits for cannabis recertifications are available to residents within a 15-mile radius of the Fort Lauderdale office located at 6245 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308.
The cost is only $399.
Also consider that the in-Home Visit is the only in-person visit that the state of Florida will require. Follow up appointments would be able to continue virtually with the same convenience at a fraction of the cost. In other words, any future doctor visit that you may need can happen by Tele-health (which is only $150/visit).
What Are the Benefits of Home Visits?
For patients dealing with chronic illness, severe pain, mobility limitations, advanced medical conditions, or transportation challenges, getting to an office appointment is not always realistic or comfortable. Home visits for medical cannabis evaluations and recertification offer a more accessible, supportive option that allows patients to receive care in a familiar environment without the added stress of travel or waiting rooms. Some of the most important benefits of medical cannabis home visits may include:
- Convenient in-home evaluations
- Reduced travel burden
- Support for limited mobility
- More comfortable appointment experience
- Personalized one-on-one attention
- Easier access to certification care
- Family involvement in discussions
- Compassionate, patient-centered support
For many patients and caregivers, home visits create a more practical and reassuring experience while still allowing for thoughtful conversations about symptoms, qualifying conditions, and medical cannabis treatment options.
How Are Home Visits Performed?
Home visits are designed to make medical cannabis evaluations more accessible and comfortable for patients who may have difficulty traveling to an office. During the visit, our team will meet with the patient in their home to review medical history, qualifying conditions, symptoms, current medications, and treatment goals in a private, supportive setting. The appointment may also include a discussion about whether medical cannabis could be an appropriate option for symptom management and overall quality-of-life support. If the patient qualifies, our team will explain next steps for certification, recommendations, and follow-up care moving forward.

Best service I’ve received!I went in to renew my marijuana license and the entire process was incredibly smooth. Dr. Shaw made me feel very comfortable, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and was so humble and kind throughout. I’m truly grateful I was referred to her—highly recommend! 👌
Dr Shaw is amazing. I went for my appointment and left my tumbler there. She sent it back to me in the mail along with recipes of teas I wanted to learn more about. Thank you Dr. Shaw for your package and attention to detail.
Dr. Shaw asked me why "I" felt I needed THC and opened up a proper discussion for a solution. Great Experience!

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will my in-home visit take?
Most in-home visits for medical cannabis recertification take about 30-45 minutes from start to finish. During the visit, our provider reviews your medical history, discusses current symptoms, evaluates how cannabis is supporting your condition, and completes all state-required documentation. Because the appointment happens in your home, there’s no travel time, waiting room, or added stress, making the process especially convenient for patients with mobility challenges or chronic conditions.
What if I live more than 15 miles from the office?
In-home visits are available to patients who live within a 15-mile radius of our Fort Lauderdale office. If you live outside that range, you still have convenient options. Many patients choose to complete their required visit in-office or schedule follow-up appointments via telehealth once their initial in-person requirement has been met. Telehealth visits are available at a lower cost and allow you to continue care from the comfort of your home without ongoing travel. Our team can help review your location and recommend the most practical option for your situation.
How often do you need medical cannabis recertification in Florida?
In Florida, medical cannabis recertification is required every seven months to remain compliant with state regulations and continue purchasing medical marijuana legally. The in-home visit fulfills the state’s in-person requirement, and once that visit is completed, future appointments can typically be handled through telehealth. This allows patients to maintain certification with far less disruption, time commitment, and cost while still receiving ongoing provider oversight and support. If you’d like help scheduling your in-home visit or understanding your recertification timeline, our team is happy to walk you through the process.
